I spent two days in Berlin walking through the city and looking for potential images. When I approached the holocaust memorial in the city centre, I was impressed in many ways. I walked through the passways in between the black massive bricks and after a while I was just overwhelmed by the dense atmosphere and historical context of the location. When I was taking a break and just leant against one of the bricks, a hand holding a smartphone suddenly appeared just in front of me and I took a photo of it. Afterwards I started to think that even if so many images have been made from this location, it seemed hard to impossible for me to capture the feelings and mood this special monument can produce. However, we use modern technologies to document everything we see and any place we are, probably often without taking too much attention of it. And even if my struggle with this location was interrupted by those hands, after little time, I did not feel any better for taking this image
